About The Department

The Department of Forensic Science was set up in the year 20 in order to impart the Forensic Science knowledge to the new generation.
Our department vision is achieved through imparting the quality education to students. Our faculty put the best possible efforts to ensure that the students gain the proper technical skills along with the life skills, which helps them to face the world confidently and with high self-esteem.
As the Institute has been awarded the Autonomous status by UGC, necessary and required changes as per the requirement of industry, after due revisions and monitoring by experts have been made in OBE curriculum.
The department has dedicated, motivated, devoted faculty with a passion for teaching. Faculty is committed to enrich their skills through continual higher education & research. The department conducts seminars, workshops, conferences and faculty development programs for faculty advancement. More innovative methods in teaching - learning have been developed and implemented.
The overall strength of the department is 80 students in three year pattern with 2 faculties and well equipped Forensic Laboratory Equipments.

To make the World a Better and safer place to live by producing the Forensic Experts in the country and worldwide, who will help to detect crime and prevent the society in along with carry out research in the area of Forensic Science and Crime Investigation.

About The Program

B. Sc., Forensic Science:
Forensic Science is the application of scientific knowledge & methodology in criminal investigations & legal proceedings. It is multidisciplinary subject; it encompasses various fields of science such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer, geology, psychology, social sciences, engineering...
Our Department is offering under-graduate (3 years) degree courses covering Forensic Science, Forensic Physics, Forensic Chemistry, Forensic Biology, Forensic Psychology, Digital and Cyber Forensics and Law disciplines.
With advancement in technology at every second of this world’s existence, the criminals and their crimes are also advancing at the same pace. We are everyday witnessing alarming rates in murder, theft, rape, cyber crimes and assaults around us. For this, we definitely have to go with a multi-disciplinary approach. This is where Forensic Science comes into the picture- it helps law enforcement officials solving crimes through the collection, preservation and analysis of evidence with the help of Forensic experts.
The aim of this programme is to equip students with current Forensic practices, teach theoretical aspects and competency in the field of Forensics.

Program Outcomes

PO1: Demonstrate competency in the collection, processing, analyzing and evaluation of physical evidences.
PO2: Develop investigating techniques including the recognition, collection, identification, preservation and documentation of physical evidences.
PO3: Demonstrate the ability to document and orally describe crime sciences, physical evidences and scientific processes.
PO4: Develop a conceptual understanding of Criminal Justice System, rules of evidence and legal system.
PO5: Enhancement in the professional knowledge.
PO6: Highest excellence in the field of Forensic Science.
