Introduction
College has formed Anti Ragging Committee as per the UGC guidelines Ragging is totally prohibited in inside and / or outside the campus and anyone found guilty of ragging and or abetting ragging whether actively or passively, or being a part of conspiracy to promote ragging, is liable to be punished in accordance with UGC Regulations (No: UGCD – Rag/C/96(15)/SCHE/2009) circulated on April 13, 2009, ragging in Higher Educational Institutions is strictly prohibited and totally banned, and anyone found guilty of ragging is liable to be punished in any one or more than one way mentioned below:
Creating awareness among students about the punishment for ragging
As per government rule online Anti-ragging affidavit to be filled in by students with undertaking from parents
Withholding/ Withdrawing Scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
Students Counselling Cell is functioning in the College. Mentoring of students is also followed in the institution
Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival etc.
Suspension / expulsion from the hostel.
Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
Collective punishment: when the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.
Objectives of Anti Ragging Committee:
Anti-Ragging Committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. The main objectives of this cell are as follows:
To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
To promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to our notice.
To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.
